Hello loves! Joey is convinced no one will get my Shaggy reference. Help me prove him wrong, We have kind of put the nursery on the back burner for a bit because Atlas has been coexisting with us in the master bedroom since we got home from the hospital. We know we have at least another six months of this so we kind of started to work on other projects instead of prioritizing the nursery. We also know we have/had a few more pieces to get, like a 1. ) rug, 2.) fan – and 3.) we want to wallpaper the ceiling. Easy, right?
When we left off with the nursery we had no idea what we would be in for and what would work for us. We thought if we just had a little sleeper or the moses basked in our room, we would just pop into the nursery for whatever else we needed. That wasn’t the best plan.
The thing is, when a baby is crying or fussy, you want everything at your fingertips. So, we brought one dresser into our room so we had a proper changing table. We have a super cute project we are working on that will live in that corner (so excited to share!).
Here we are sans dresser + glorious shag rug from RugsUSA.com. A bunch of you who follow us on instagram have asked about the rug and right now it’s 50% off! It’s 100% wool and feels like heaven on your feet. It’s impressive and we love it.
The reading nook needs a light and a small table, but other than that we are going to keep it simple as we planned originally.
I really think the rug makes this room. It grounded everything way better than the smaller yellow one. Plus this one is way way plusher, which I think Atlas will love playing on. There is also plenty of room where there is wood floor, so we can avoid ruining the rug with things like playdough or juicebox mishaps.
The list looks like this now:
- Valances – still deciding
CurtainsRugCribMattressChanging Table/Dresser- Art – part done
- Wallpaper Ceiling
- Make Mobile – part done
- Lights
Reading Chair- Get and hang fan
- Reading nook table
- Super fun project – part done
It feels good to be almost done! Just in time for spring where we can open up the windows and use the nursery as a playroom so he can get use to it before he moves in! Do you guys have any tips for a must have in a nursery? Let us know what we are forgetting! I think all nurseries need trees!
