…is D-O-N-E! It’s actually been done for a while, but I am just getting around to it now. We’ll call it “The Lake House” because I can’t tell you who’s house it actually is. Here’s the story. Earlier this year I met with a city couple who wrote in via Emily Henderson asking for design services on their lake house in upstate New York. I told Emily how great/cool/fun/hip they were and that they were just their style. After they met, it was an obvious match and we got to work. Here is the result of five months of pure chaos! A full lake house gut renovation involving three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, dining room, den and added a laundry room.
This is the living room, which lives right off the kitchen. All the floors were redone, and that fireplace wall was painted white. New lighting and sconses were also installed.

I never really had the chance to take good pictures, and I am sure if this ever makes it to print (I hear a few magazines are talking) you will see it styled totally different. Just a heads up! Also, I don’t think I can share toooooo many photos because of this.
Don’t mind the open electrical ugly to the left. This is one of my favorite parts of the renovation, the hallway. What you are looking at is the front door. I love love love the hanging nautical lights and the crispness of the white walls when you walk in. It’s fun and polished looking at the same time.

Another view of the hallway shows the fun staircase painted in blue and white. I love that everything is so sun drenched!
The bathroom is my other favorite part of the renovation. You can’t even imagine how bad it was before. I feel OK saying that because the current owners had nothing to do with the original one. The wallpaper (Hygge and West) I have coveted for years and was so excited to see it in use. I can imagine being excited to tinkle here on a daily basis.
This is the last photo I am going to share for now! One of the requests was a bathtub in the master bedroom. Serious relaxation is going to happen here. That window is something we added and has an awesome view of the lake.

So there we have it! With a baby on the way and the health issues associated with it, I don’t think I will be up for a full get renovation anytime soon, but I am excited and proud to have finished this guy up! It’s also super inspiring to get a move on all the pending projects around here.
The lake house exudes an effortlessly relaxing feel. You can also do thins with your print business card by using cool and earth tones.
